Meet the Team

These folks keep the pages turning at Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop

Mrs Millie Blackwell

Proprietor
Mrs Blackwell is our specialist in non-fiction categories and stationery. She grew up on an apricot orchard in Central Otago but never really cared for the taste of the fruit.

Mr Adam Blackwell

Director of the Creative Department
When he isn’t making local bicycle deliveries on his Pashley or mixing Mrs Blackwell a dry martini with a twist, Mr Blackwell crafts our Yellow Pages ads and answering machine messages.

Mr Phillip Matthews

Superior Book Clerk
Our specialist in fiction, history, the arts, and philosophy. The first thing Mr Matthews ever purchased with his own money was a kitset Edwardian style building for his model railway.

Miss Victoria Moss (and Scout)

Superior Book Clerk
You might recognise Miss Moss from her popular fabric, haberdashery and vintage store JET Greytown. You’re welcome to ask her crafty questions as well as book enquires while you’re in store.

Miss Alice Floss

Superior Book Clerk
When she isn’t helping you find your next great cookbook or suggesting an eco-friendly swap for your household, Miss Floss can be found in her own burgeoning culinary garden.

Mrs Maureen Hodder

Thanks to Mrs Hodder, new books and puzzles get listed in our online store, and paperwork is checked carefully and filed with meticulous precision. Although she is still to break this news to her husband, her bookshop income is largely recycled into the purchase of books and shoes. Respect.
