Tote-ally Patched

  • The Judgement Room (upstairs at Blackwell & Sons) L2, 110 Main Street, Greytown Greytown New Zealand (map)

Is your collection of tote bags a little... meh? Bring them to life with patchwork!

In this relaxed Sunday morning workshop, you’ll learn to sew a classic 9-patch block and then attach it to a plain tote bag in your favourite colours and to suit your own personal style.

Victoria from Jet will guide you through the basics of patchwork, hand stitching, and ideas for bag embellishment. By the end of the session, you'll have a beautiful carry bag that’s strong enough for books or groceries, and skills you can apply to smarten up the rest of your reusable bag stash.

Whether you’re brand new to sewing or just want to spend a crafty morning with others, this one’s for you.

Leave with: A unique new tote bag and skills and ideas to customise all your bags at home.

Skill level: Beginners welcome! Just familiarise yourself with whipstitch before the workshop. Here’s an easy to follow tutorial to save you lots of time on the day - Whip stitch: right-handed or Whip stitch: left-handed
