Ask Mrs Blackwell what her favourite movie is and, unlike when you ask her about her favourite book, she'll be quick to answer and tell you that it's You've Got Mail, the Nora Ephron classic from 1998.
When we heard Greytown's Crown Picture Theatre would be returning for a limited time as part of the Festival of Christmas we decided to book it out for a screening of our own.
Join us at 4pm on Sunday 6th July for a booklovers session of You've Got Mail.
Your ticket price includes a seat at the movie and a blind date with a book (your surprise book will be either an advance reading copy, or one of Mrs Blackwell's monthly review books).
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can give your ticket to someone else.
Doors open at 3:45pm.
Screening begins at 4pm.
About the movie:
Struggling boutique bookseller Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) hates Joe Fox (Tom Hanks), the owner of a corporate Foxbooks chain store that just moved in across the street. When they meet online, however, they begin an intense and anonymous internet romance, oblivious of each other's true identity.
Eventually Joe learns that the enchanting woman he's involved with is actually his business rival. He must now struggle to reconcile his real-life dislike for her with the cyber love he's come to feel.
